Self-Pay Pricing
No insurance, or would rather not use it? These are the prices, published, so you know the number before you walk in.

What the price includes
The visit itself: the time with Rachael Bowen, NP, the exam, the plan, and the written summary you take home. Nothing is added afterward for the parts of the visit you assumed were included.
Lab pricing
We draw labs here rather than sending you to a hospital outpatient lab, which is where self-pay patients get hurt. The identical test on the identical machine is routinely billed several times more when a hospital orders it. A lipid panel that costs $40 here has a median hospital charge of around $220.

Also billed separately
Vaccines and procedures are priced individually, and we tell you before we do anything. Anything we send out, including imaging, specialist referrals and outside testing, is billed by whoever performs it rather than by us.
If you have insurance, read this first
Self-pay is not automatically the cheaper option. If you have a plan with a high deductible, a visit run through insurance still counts toward that deductible even when you pay the whole amount. Paying self-pay instead means it does not count.
Worth five minutes with a calculator. We are in network with most major carriers, so for most people using the insurance is the right answer.
Your right to a Good Faith Estimate
If you are uninsured or paying without using insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of what your care will cost. Federal law requires us to give you one for scheduled care, and to give you one any time you ask.
Ask for it when you book and we will put it in writing before your visit. If your final bill is at least $400 more than the estimate, you can dispute it.

Questions about paying without insurance
Do I pay at the time of service?
Yes, self-pay pricing is payable at the time of your visit or lab draw. That is what makes it possible to charge less than the billed rate, because there is no claim to file and nothing to chase afterward.
What if I have insurance but a high deductible?
Then it is worth running the numbers before you decide. Ask us what we would charge as self-pay and ask your plan what the visit would apply toward your deductible. Sometimes running it through insurance is better even when you pay in full, because it counts toward the deductible. Sometimes it is not.
Do I need a visit to get labs?
No. Pick what you want from the menu, pay the lab price, and we draw you here. If you would like the results reviewed with you, book a visit, which is priced separately.
Can I use self-pay pricing if I have Medicare?
That depends on the service and on how the visit would otherwise be billed. Call us before you book and we will sort it out with you, because getting this wrong creates problems for both of us.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Ask. We would rather work something out than have you skip care over a number.
