Keller is west of us, about fifteen to twenty minutes along FM 1709 depending on where in the city you start.
The drive, honestly
East on Keller Parkway, FM 1709, through Southlake, then north toward the 114 corridor and Kirkwood Blvd. From the east side of Keller you are closer to fifteen minutes. From the west side near US 377, allow more.
This is a longer drive than several other options and we are not going to pretend otherwise. It is worth it for specific reasons, covered below, and if those reasons do not apply to you then a closer practice is the better choice.

The two reasons Keller patients make the drive
Getting seen when something is actually wrong. The practices closest to Keller are busy, and sick visits routinely book out past the point where the visit is useful. We hold openings each day. That is the whole argument, and for people managing a household it tends to be the deciding one.
Seeing the same person. If you are managing blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol or thyroid, continuity is the difference between care and paperwork. The provider who saw your numbers last time is the one who notices the drift this time, so it pays to keep seeing the same one. If your current practice does both of those things well, stay. Distance is a real cost.
Keller ISD athletes
Sports physicals for students age 16 and older. Keller ISD is a large district and the offices nearest the schools fill up early in the summer, which is frequently how families end up looking further east.
Bring the complete packet with the history section filled out at home with a parent. Book with runway, because anything that needs an orthopedic opinion or an echocardiogram takes weeks, and seasons have deadlines.
We do not provide pediatric care, so students younger than 16 need a pediatric office.
Medicare patients
A meaningful share of our Keller patients are on Medicare, and the recurring theme is the Annual Wellness Visit, which most people either have never used or have confused with a physical.
They are different services. Original Medicare does not cover a routine annual physical the way commercial plans do, but it does cover a yearly wellness visit focused on prevention planning, generally with no cost sharing. How long is the drive from Keller?
Fifteen to twenty minutes for most of the city, east on Keller Parkway, FM 1709, through Southlake and up toward the 114 corridor. From the east side of Keller near Rufe Snow it is shorter.
That is a real drive. Why bother?
Only worth it for two things. If you cannot get a sick appointment where you are for two or three weeks, or if you never see the same person twice. If neither of those is a problem for you, stay where you are. We would rather say that than pretend distance does not matter.
